From New York and London to Milan and Paris, fashion is ready to bend over torwards new season! Have a look at the pictures and read the reviews of selected shows that set the best fashion trends for fall 2012.
Marchesa fall 2012
Known for the unique direction of designing especially for galas and other types of official ceremonies, fashion duo Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig created an awe-inspiring collection of more than 30 ethereal, and glamorous dresses and gowns. Despite being marked as ‘ready-to-wear’ the collection brought an utterly ‘haute couture’ feel thanks to the luxurious lace embroidery, and extensive use of feathers and tulle.
Mary Katrantzou fall 2012
For fall 2012 collection Mary Katrantzou again, stayed true to her signature digital prints and dramatic silhouettes. This time surreal prints reflected the season’s tribal influences while architectural shapes were the result of designer’s chase to “emphasize embroidery and embellishments”. The print-wise dresses were a unique mixture of deliberately over-coloured abstractionism and strictly corseted geometry. Masterpieces.
Alexander McQueen fall 2012
Darkness and despair, the quintessential marks of Alexander McQueen’s theatrical designs were clearly celebrated in the house’ fall 2012 collection. This proves Sarah Burton’s successful continuation of her late mentor’s unique vision. Completed with sci-fi visors, hoof-like shoes and fur pompons the collection was stark, cold and related to the future. One of a kind journey from white and pale pink to black and red in the end.
Victoria Beckham fall 2012
Being one of the most successful celebrity fashion designers requires a lot of work and creativity but on the other hand it makes it much easier to know the clientele as the back of their hand. This means that in fall 2012 our favourite celebrities (meaning Victoria Beckham’s friends) will choose to wear military in a sleek, structured aesthetic. The key look is a long body-conscious dress in camouflage colours accessorized with combat boots.
Valentino fall 2012
Over the last few collections, Italian fashion house Valentino with designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli established their own defiition of traditional femininity. With a bold tailoring and enchanting colours, every dress featured on the fall 2012 runway is inherently chic and exudes irresistible magnetism. The romance between top-notch materials including rich leather and impeccable classic silhouette is however a bit rough and will not satisfy the needy mainstream.
