Shoes are most women’s favourite accessory. Every season footwear tendences change and therefore it’s very important to know what is trendy and what is not. Always the biggest fashion mistake is to wear apparel that was en vogue last season. Well I was about to make a Top 10 Hottest Shoes of Winter 2009, but couldn’t decide which one to rule out, so there are 11 hottest shoes for the season! =]
Stilettos here stilettos there, stilettos are everywhere! It must be something about the desire of looking a little bit taller, making your calf muscles looking strained yet slender, it’s also about turning yourself to a Hollywood star like Eva Longoria, Katie Holmes or Victoria Beckham. This season it must be Louboutins or YSL. Definitely!
Chunky heels well they look kind of old-fashioned to me, but some models can be really posh.
I am not personally a fan of these round-toes, so the option of squared or pointed toe shoes is a true redemption to me! Yet another absolutely exclusive shoe trend for winter 2009 is open toe boots worn with tights, usually considered as a fashion faux-pas, but absolutely NOT this winter.
Also, there is another trend that will make you look totally feminine this winter, and it’s long, above the knee boots. It’s even more en vogue if they are made of suede, which – without any question – is a real challenge in the terms of maintenance and cleaning. Also, beware of what you wear along with the boots so as to avoid looking provocative and tacky.
Yet another interesting and rather spit-and-polish trend are lace-up shoes or boots. It depends on the pair, but basically this winter there’s no place for modesty and simplicity. Apart from lace-ups, there are also Mary-Janes - beloved by the celebrities, reptile leathers – right from the jungle and cute, Pocahontas-like fringed shoes and boots.
