Lady Gaga shocks, fascinates and makes controversy. I wouldn’t call her the most stylish woman alive but she certainly knows all the ins and outs and she plays with fashion easily. Born on March 28, 1986 (Gosh, we’re peers!) as the eldest child to Italian American parents, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta did not resemble the “pop-electronic diva” she is right now.
She was named ‘Lady Gaga’ after a song “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen. The rumour has it that it was her entrance song (instead of saying hello, Stefani would start singing “Radio Ga Ga”). She’s not a natural blonde, she just dyed her hair blond after she was accidently called Amy Winehouse. Today she’s often compared to Madonna and Christina Aguilera but her unique style makes her totally distinguishable.
Lady Gaga accentuates that fashion is a love of her life (“I’m very into fashion”). Her style has been widely commented and this is a clear sign that people either admire it or just detest it. US Magazine called her the worst dressed of the year but she apparently didn’t let them bother her. The famous fashion consultant, Stacy London says she just doesn’t understand Lady Gaga’s style.
- Lady Gaga who is known for her wild wardrobe choices is “well-appointed in accessories” like a hair bow, hat, sunglasses, gloves and even a couture neck brace.
- On the “Pocker Face; Remixes” packaging she was seen wearing aKiki de Montparnasse – handkrafted Italian masks
- Lady Gaga appeared semi-nude, wearing only plastic bubbles, on the cover of the annual ‘Hot 100′ issue of Rolling Stone
- She donned six crazy outfits for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the most remarkable one was the belly-baring bodysuit stained with fake blood!
- Gaga showed her love for overly strong shoulders while celebrating the release of her album ‘The Fame Monster’
- Her most recent fashion do(n’t?): a silk orb-like Giorgio Armani Prive dress at the 2010 Grammy Awards Red Carpet
