I didn’t know chain necklaces are actually on trend until I went shopping for some summer must-haves and realised the whole jewelry stall was decorated with neck chains which – unfortunately – weren’t that exaggerated. Just don’t let that bother you since a crowd of celebrities (including Kim Kardashian and Olsen Twins) choose delicate multiple chain necklaces instead of brutal chains (like the ones featured by Jean Paul Gaultier on Spring Summer 2010 show). What you also should know is that a yellow gold jewelry is the best choice today.

Fashion world mourns death of Alexander McQueen, whose provocative collections made him a global star. McQueen was found dead at his London home on Thursday, 11th February in what media said appeared to be suicide. Today it’s confirmed – he hanged himself in a wardrobe.

That day his store in Manhattan’s trendy Meatpacking District was closed and became a temporary shrine. People would leave flowers at the doorstep of his London flat. Stars including Kim Kardashian, Rachel Zoe, Katy Perry and Estelle have commented on Alexander McQueen‘s death by posting tweets on their Twitter profiles. Naomi Campbell‘s ‘Fashion For Relief’ Haiti Runway Show would also pay a tribute to McQueen’s death – she arranged for herself, his muse Daphne Guinness and six other models to close the show in the designs of the British fashion genious.

When I heard that McQueen was found dead and probably because of the suicide, I felt really sorry for him and for his decision. I asked myself in a kind of psychological way what led him to such an act to take his life away. He had it all: fame, success, fans, money. But he was probably feeling overwhelmingly lonesome just a day before his mother’s death anniversary. And shortly before he was due to unveil his latest collection in Paris but that’s just not the case. I mean he might be stressed out but it’s not the reason to kill himself.

Suicide was the act he already knew. I don’t know why he found it the ultimate solution to the problems but it’s true that a friend of his committed suicide three years before. It was reportedly Isabella Blow who helped him achieve his fashion success. I don’t believe he decided to commit a suicide suddenly, it doesn’t happen overnight. He was probably considering it until he finally did it.

Did we miss the signs he would send?

Sometimes I think people who are into fashion call ‘genious’ everything they don’t understand and I’m convinced that a typical human being who is happy with their life doesn’t actually understand McQueen’s latest fashions. Just take a look at the makeup of the models wearing famous hound’s tooth costumes during Fall 2009 fashion show. Their skin looked excessively pale and lips were just like covered with blood like after a murder.

His spring summer 2010 collection might not have been that bloody but it’s alarming too. He presented a woman as a sea mammal with a skin of sharks or dolphins wearing grotesque shoes. I think these patterns, as genious as they were might have reflected what was going on his mind and it’s just too much for a regular human being.

Taking a deeper look at his latest designs I would say there’s been a considerable dose of anxiety, pain and persistent existential thoughts. I still wonder why people from his closest environment didn’t notice that there was something wrong with Alexander? Did they have the right to blame it to his complex artistic soul leave it as it was? These are now the unanswerable questions.

Heidi is a master of scary costumes. Last year she was Kali, a blue-armed creature, yet this year she turned into a black crow. Tabloids speculate that Heidi might have some personality problems, but hey, it’s Halloween after all!

Jennifer and her boyfriend Ross McCall were dressed as two of Harpo Marx and Charlie Chaplin. Her costume wasn’t that scary as Heidi’s but it was very convincing. Besides, I love such sex-swapping costumes!

I always consider Kim as very womanly, she never lets me down. And she didn’t do either on Halloween when she turned into a Snow White for the party. Well it might have been a bit trashy, but it doesn’t have to be a high fashion.

Eliza and Rick Fox opted for vampire Bonnie and Clyde costumes. She wore a trademark beige bonnet, a platinium wig and she accessorized it with a huge rifle. Murderous.

Audrina couldn’t resist a sexy violet belly-baring “One Thousand and One Nights” costume. It might have been a queen Scheherazade or simply Aladin’s girlfriend Jasmina, but it was definitely related to the so called “orphan stories”.

Selita who wore a red revealing costume was called a ‘slutty devil’. I liked her cornrowed hairstyle and sequin embellishments but I suppose these ‘details’ weren’t in the center attraction.

Halle Berry, Kim Kardashian, Alessandra Ambrosio took the red carpet aback with their more or less daring dresses. I once read that a cut-out dress doesn’t have to reveal too much as its sexiness is about this unexpected flesh of a bare body.

Halle Berry who is 43, was on top form at the red carpet as she stepped out in a black sequin cut-out dress by Kaufman Franco. She accessorised it with sexy Christian Louboutin stilettos and a red clutch bag.

Alessandra Ambrosio went for a Balmain cut-out lace number from the Fall collection. She accessorized it with some jewels but perhaps she shouldn’t have. I didn’t like the dress in the first place because it looked kind of overloaded for me.

Kim Kardashian on the other hand wore a sexy black cut-out Wayne dress. The frock revealed nothing more than her toned abs and it was a good choice as Kim might have popped out. She paired the dress with black Christian Louboutin Alti Pumps.
