Jennifer Lopez caused quite a stir with her large round bun inspired with the one presented on Lanvin’s model in a Spring 2010 collection show. Jennifer walked the red carpet in London with her “retro” and “beehive” hairdo. She stayed loyal to Lavin as she wore a black leather dress from the designer. Gosh, I can’t believe she’s already 40!

Heidi Klum is another celebrity model who goes au naturel! She wears no makeup in People‘s new “Most Beautiful People” issue following in Jessica Simpson, Monica Bellucci and Eva Herzigova‘s footsteps. Heidi explained that she’s not used to wearing makeup at home in front of her famous husband Seal and their children.

80′s are coming back with a huge impact so get ready to sport this trend. Go for a denim jacket, a dress or a skirt. To achieve a trendy all-American classic look try a head-to-toe denim, a ripped, patched or torn one or a peek-a-boo denim.

Mix a Sporty Spice style with a touch of Posh glam. Try sport’s traditional look and search for inspiration in soccer and tennis: get into thigh-grazing shorts, cropped tops, waistbands and pleated skirts. This season sportswear becomes streetwear!

Vogue says glitter always does a girl good. From jackets to jumpsuits, the spring 2010 runways sparkled bright with modern metallics, sequins and patterns. Of course golden and silvery sparkle take the lead yet coloured one also sticks to the runways.

Create a subtle, sophisticated ‘You’ with an easy draping. Add womanly draped dresses (especially the one with a high split), jumpsuits, and skirts to your spring 2010 wardrobe. Military jackets and coats are one of this season’s most sought after trends, they can be regarded as a classic. Their military feel can be expressed in different ways: with the gold braiding, double-breasted brass buttons, shoulder epaulettes. A great choice is a neat stand-up collar that gives a feminine feel to the trend. On the contrary, there is a long khaki officer’s greatcoat with its tough-looking military shape.

Michael Jackson was a military trend lover himself – the singer would wear many items from the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 Balmain collection which was actually inspired with Jacko’s style.

Military-style is a bit masculine itself so it’s avisable to add some feminine touch to the overal outfit. Forget the boot-cut jeans or other clothes just taken off your boyfriend. Military coats and jackets look best worn with ultra trendy thigh-high boots, lacy dresses, ballerina skirts, skinny pants or shiny leggings.

If a military frogging is a bit too much for you, try some high quality military accessories: leather belts, long gloves, military-style caps and Russian Cossak hats. Brocade, brass buttons and epaulettes – this is what military trend is all about!

For the couple of seasons the main beauty trends were based on either accentuation on eyes or lips. But this fall is the time of a so called Total Look. It is a groomed, complete make-up often called a full make-up which derives from 1980s’. The main guideline is to accentuate both eyes and lips. Also remember about the background – make your skin look radiant and sweep over the apples of your cheeks with a cheek powder for an ’80s finish and natural flush.

Extreme eyebrows

Eyebrows are responsible for the overal facial expression so it’s important to pluck them properly. For this fall and winter they look extreme because the glam rock make-up needs a heavy background. First thing to achieve a trendy eyebrow look is to set them in order with a colourless eyebrow gel. Then intensify their colour with a shade: a lighter one if you’re dark-haired, darker if you’ve got fair hair.

Daring red lips

Classic red lipstick is the most important detail of the fall 2009 make-up. Satin, shiny, mat – every type is permitted as long as it gives your lips an intense and saturated colour. Apply it with a lipstick brush or a fingertip to achieve an elegant look. A good idea is to apply the first layer of the lipstick heavily, drain off the excess and then re-apply another layer. This will make your lipstick stay longer.

I love the colour of Madeline’s orange dress with pink tulle underskirt. She knew exactly how to balance the flamboyant orange frock with a pair of nude sandals.

Taylor chose a girly flower-print dress to unveil her star at Mohegan’s. She perfectly matched it with her trademark wavy hair. Sweet!

Strong shoulders is a totally wearable trend, but I would be careful because shoulder pads create a very Dynasty-style looks. For the ‘reserved’ fashionistas I would recommend strong shoulders for rather formal occasions. It is perfect for formal jackets, dresses, blouses and it can be successfully paired with fur, gloves or belts. This classical looks is promoted inter alia by BCBG Max Azria, Chanel, Donna Karan or Anne Valérie Hash.

Lavin, on the other hand opts for a light version – note that they used tulle instead of shoulder pads that gave the impression of strong shoulders. Marc Jacobs and Emanuel Ungaro had a totally different idea on how to create a strong shoulder of today. It is a very rock-inspired style, reminding me of the shiny spacesuits. I really liked a strong-shouldered bolero by Ungaro worn in a casual style and a geometric yellow dress by Jacobs, probably borrowed from the Star Trek film stage.

This multicoloured acrylic cuff is a fashion statement itself, so be careful what you accessorize it with. Simple yet ultra trendy nude dress will be a great choice!

• 4. Adriana Orsini – Micro Pavé Hinged Bracelet

Oprah wears her O pendant, so why don’t you try this wonderful bracelet lavished with crystals?

• 3. Emilio Pucci – Tiger-Print Snake Bangle

Great colours and a great idea on how to wrap woman’s delicate wrist with some wild prints. Bravo Emilio!

• 2. Ted Rossi – Silk, Crystal and Pearl Cuff

In the first place I didn’t know if this cuff is glamorous or tacky. Swarovski Elements and faux pearls combined together well I wasn’t sure, but I made it my numer two. Just adorable.

• 1. Lavin – Strass crystal cuff

Number one because of its candy coloured style. With so many crystals on, you can just forget about other pieces of jewellery. Crystal cuff from Lavin does it all!

Basically there are many different types of handbags which are en vogue this spring and summer 2009. Size differs from huge totes to tiny clutches, so the range (and the choice!) is quite ample. Provided that the main factor was a size, you can choose (starting from the biggest ones):

• huge totes (Kenzo)
  
• medium sized bags (Christian Dior)
  
• medium sized clutches (Elie Saab)
  
• tiny clutches (Hervé Léger)
  

Medium sized clutches is a fashion accessory that left me stunned. They aren’t that teeny-weeny like their fall 2008 winter 2009 ancestors so you can pack half of your world there and still look glamorous. Be careful so as not to make it stuffed – that looks cheap.

Moreover, eyeliner can also be used in a more or less typical way,  but don’t worry to overuse it. For spring summer 2009 there is no eyeliner limits. Yves Saint Laurent‘s make up artist proves that even if your eye line if far from perfect, it can still be devilishly trendy. Just ignore the fact that you’re going off the ‘eye course’, stick some false eyelashes there and simply strut your stuff. It’s not you, but them who don’t know fashion!

Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano‘s artists still praise the sophisticated violet/purple eye look. Such a heavy eye makeup can only be paired with rosy pink cheeks and balanced lips like:

I think this looks is only suitable for late evening occasions, but you need to stay sober for the whole night just to beware of the coloured teeth! On the other hand there is Vivienne Westwood who shocks with a black lipstick, with a do-it-yourself-and-change-the-shape-of-your-lips way.

L’Oréal Paris Official Hair Artist praises texture and slams flat hair. For him, voluminous hair is a must – he suggest starting a day with applying a mousse on damp hair and creating waves. When hair is ready to be styled add a little volume spray and set hair with a curling iron or rollers. Looks like I’m lucky to have natural waves.

A real “return to glam” is reserved for nighttime. Hair should be “tied and slicked back, an almost wet look” – this can be simply achieved with gel. You can also try to make use of ponytails or off centered chignons.

“The hair itself is used as an accessory,” says Del Monaco. Therefore don’t be afraid to experiment with quiffs and braids (not together, of course), just like celebrities do. Nicole Richie and Jada Pinkett Smith have proved that braids can look totally glamorous even with sophisticated gowns right on the red carpet.
